Honshin Ryu
was
founded
by
Masakatsu
Miyagi.
It
is
a
younger
school
which
includes
elements
from
the Matsubashi Shorin-Ryu and Uechi-Ryu.
Kenshin Ryu
Kenshinryu
Kobudo
was
founded
by
Teruo
Hayashi,
based
on
the
Kobudo
of
the
Ryuei-Ryu.
Hayashi
was
the
first
who
was
accecpt
as
a
student
by
Kenko
Nakaima
to
learn
the
style
of
Ryuei-Ryu
which
was
only
handed
down
to
family
members.
The
Kenshinryu
Kobudo
involved
14
weapons
at
all
and
is
from
high
technical
level.
Hayashi
was
also
the
first
who
did include fighting exercises into the normal training.
The Kenshinryu is a part of the Hayashi-ha-Shito-Ryu.
Teruo
Hayashi
was
well
known
for
his
dynamic
fighting
skills.
He
was
also
an
excellent
teacher who was able to teach each little detail of any Bunkai.
Teruo Hayashi did pass away 24. Septembre 2004.
Kojo Ryu
The
Art
of
martial
arts
of
the
Kojo
family
is
based
onto
chinese
roots
and
is
known
as
a
highly advanced Art.
Matayoshi Ryu
Matayoshi
Ryu
is
a
family
style
which
was
founded
by
Shinko
Mataoyshi.
Matayoshi
Ryu
is
spread worldwide. A gain of Shinpo Matayoshi, the son of the founder.
Matayoshi
Ryu
is
based
on
very
clear
and
direct
techniques.
But
this
demands
good
skills
for precise timing.
Motobu Ryu
Motobu
Ryu
is
a
very
old
fighting
method
of
the
Motobu
family.
It
has
become
famous
by
Choki
Motobu.
Though
the
family
style
wasn't
handed
down
to
him,
because
he
was
the
second
son
of
the
family,
he
did
become
an
well
known
master
of
the
Martial
Arts
and
an
expert for Kumite.
But
Seikich
Uehara
who
did
work
as
a
servant
for
the
family
did
become
the
heir
of
the
style. Seikich Uehara got the title "Living treasure" one of the highest janpanes honours.
Also
in
age
over
90
years
he
gave
lessons
of
this
amazing
Martial
Art,
which
is
very
versatile and includes also techniques which remind to the Art of Aikido.
Ryukyu Kempo
Yabiku
Moden
was
one
of
the
most
famous
masters
of
the
okinawan
Kobudo.
He
did
learn
by
different
grand
masters
like
Yasutsune
Itosu
(Shuri-te),
Chinen
Sanda
(Yamanni
Ryu)
and Kanagusuku Ufuchiku (Ufuchiku Ryu).
Yabiku
Moden
was
the
teacher
of
Taira
Shinken.
And
it
was
Taira
Shinken
who
did
save
a
lot
of
Kobudo
Kata
and
did
hand
them
down
to
the
present
time.
The
heir
of
Yabiku
Moden's
style
was
Eisuke
Akamine.
The
style
did
become
well
known
by
Motokatsu
Inoue,
who made several books about the weapons and Kata of Kobudo.
Okinawa Kenpo
The style was found by Shigeru Nakamura.
Nakamura
did
learn
Karate
and
Kobudo
by
his
father
and
later
by
the
masters
Kuniyoshi,
Kentsu
Yabu
and
Chomo
Hanashiro.
His
most
important
student
was
Odo
Seikichi,
who
did
also study the Matayoshi Ryu.
So
some
Kata
of
Tonfa
like
Odo
no
Tonfa
Ichi
and
Ni
are
based
on
there
versions
of
the
Matayoshi-Ryu.
Tesshinkan
The Tesshinkan is based on the Kobudo of Yabiku Moden and Eisuke Akamine.

Ufuchiku Ryu
Kanagusuku
Ufuchiku,
also
known
as
Sanda
Ufuchuku,
was
the
chief
of
the
police
department
of
Shuri.
From
Kanagusuku
is
known
that
he
did
admire
the
king.
As
the
king
did
pass
away,
Kanagusuku
was
ready
to
follow
him.
But
some
Kobudo
masters
did
please
him
to
hand
down
his
knowledge
about
Kobudo.
So
he
did
accept
Shosei
Kina
and
Yabiku
Moden
as
his
students.
After
he
did
gave
his
knowledge
to
them,
Kanagusuku
did
celebrate Harakiri at the 12. Octobre 1926.
Yamani Ryu
was
founded
by
Chinen
Sanda
and
thought
to
be
lost
even
in
Okinawa.
Yamanni
Ryu
is
very different to the most of the other styles of Kobudo.
Especially
the
techniques
with
the
Bo
are
very
fluid
and
dynamic.
Though
they
show
a
lot
of
elegance
and
nearly
seems
to
be
like
dancing.
Yamanni
Ryu
is
chinese
roots
and
is
a
very old Art.
A
famous
master
of
the
Art
is
Toshihiro
Oshiro,
who
did
learn
the
Yamanni
Ryu
from
master Kishaba.
